The Time I Went to Juhu

Juhu Beach in Mumbai is quite distinguished for its food, celebrities and filth. People say that you get the best Pav Bhaji there (never tried though!) and the typical Mumbai Street type food. The minute you’ll enter the area, there’ll be workers of various stalls, after your life to come and eat at their joints. Mind you, they won’t even let you breathe. Juhu also attracts quite a lot of tourists from all over the world.

All I had in one of the stalls was chuski (flavored iced lollies) which was pretty good. The most annoying and funny part you’ll come across is, few guys roaming around in DSLR cameras, asking you to let them click your picture for fifty or sixty bucks.

Juhu is one of the filthiest beaches I have ever been to! I remember coming to Mumbai as a ninth grader and going to the beach at night and looking in horror as the plastic bags and God knows what sticking in my feet. When I visited the beach this time, there wasn’t much of a change as far as the dirt scenario is concerned. People seem to be enjoying amidst the sea, its pleasant breeze and all sorts of garbage floating in the water, which is quite upsetting.

You can have a lot of lip smacking Mumbai delicacies in this celebrity beach of Mumbai, sit there for some ‘me’ time and feel the cool sea breeze after a tedious day.
